Location
The meeting will be held in Genoa (44°2'40.16" N, 8°5'57.58"E).
From Wikipedia:
Genoa (Genova, in Italian; Zena in Genoese and Ligurian; Genua in Latin and, archaically, in English)
is a city and an important seaport in northern Italy, the capital of the Province of Genoa and of the region of Liguria.
The city has a population of about 620,000 and the urban area has a population of about 890,000.
It is also called la Superba ("the Superb one") due to its glorious past.
See
Genoa in Wikipedia.
The meeting will be hosted by Casa Paganini, in the oldest area of town, called Castello (Castle).
Casa Paganini is a monumental site, rich in frescoes and archaeological finds, made out
of the ancient convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie la Nuova.
See the Italian web site and the
English one.
Large and small maps of the location (click on images to enlarge):
Casa Paganini is identified by the A symbol on maps above.
You can also locate it interactively through Google maps by using
this link.
Posters sessions and coffee breaks will be held in cloisters of the nearby Santa Maria di Castello monastery.

How to reach Genoa and the location of the meeting
Genoa lies on the Mediterranean Sea, some 150 km from the Italy-France border.
It can be easily reached by train and by car from Milan, Turin, Bologna, Pisa and
the majority of town in Northern and Central Italy.
Genoa Aiport "Cristoforo Colombo" has both national and international connections,
including London Gatwick and Stansted, Paris, Munich, Madrid and Rome (see info below).
Genoa is also linked by ferry with many destinations, including Corse, Sardinia, Sicily,
Spain and Tunisie.
By plane
Genoa Aiport "Cristoforo Colombo" (GOA) has both national and international connections.
See the Genoa airport web site.
From the airport, you can reach Piazza Principe railway station with the "volabus" shuttle service
(see the related timetable and information sheet).
Of course, you can also go directly to the meeting location, Casa Paganini, by taxi: ask the driver to bring you to Sarzano.
Milan airports, Malpensa (MXP), Linate (LIN) and Orio al Serio (BGY), as well as
Pisa airport (PSA), are also easily reachable from Genoa either by car or by train.
Visit related web sites:
From Milan and Orio al Serio airports, it is easiest to take a bus link into Milano Centrale train station
and take a train to Genoa from there.
By rail
Genoa is on some of the main railroads of Northern Italy, including those directed from Milan,
Turin and Nice (France) to Rome.
Visit the Italian railways website.
The main railroad station is Genova Brignole, but the Genova Piazza Principe station is
preferable since it is very near to a station of Metro Genova, the genoese underground.
Trains going from Milan to France often stop at Genova Piazza Principe station only.
From Piazza Principe station, take the underground (see below).
By car
Genoa is located at one of the nodal points of the Italian highway infrastructure.
It the can be easily reached by car from Milan (highway A7), Turin (A21 followed by A26), Bologna (A1, then A21 and A7),
Pisa (A12), Nice (A10) and the majority of town in Northern and Central Italy.
See the web site of Autostrade per l'Italia
or plan your travel to Genoa with the travel planner.
By ferry
Genoa is linked to Sardinia, Sicily, Corse (France), Barcelona and Tunis by ferry boat.
Visit web sites of main ferry boat providers:
- Grandi Navi Veloci: Sardinia (Olbia, Porta Torres), Sicily (palermo), Spain (Barcelona), Tunisia (Tunis), Morocco (Tanger)
- Moby Lines: Sardinia (Olbia, Porto Torres), Corse (Bastia)
- Tirrenia: Sardinia (Olbia, Porto Torres, Arbatax), Tunisia (Tunis)
To Casa Paganini by underground
Casa Paganini is in the hearth of the old town, and easily reachable only on foot.
The fastest ways to reach Casa Paganini are by taxi and by underground.
If you are coming by taxi, you should ask the driver to bring you to Sarzano, from where
you can reach the meeting location in few minutes on foot, as described below.
If you are coming by underground, the nearest stations are Sarzano/S.Agostino and De Ferrari.
From Piazza Principe railway station, Sarzano is the first stop, after Darsena and S. Giorgio
stations, while De Ferrari is the following one.
See Metro Genova underground timetable.
